In Aug..1920, Li Dazhao chose Joyous Pavilion as the secret activity place for the Beijing communist party. Though Chen Yusheng, a member of Chinese Juvenile Society, Li rent two side-rooms of Temple of Mercy to held secret meetings and communicated with other members. From Aug.1921 to 1923, Li Dazhao, Deng Zhongxia, Yun Daiying, Gao Junyu and other members had conducted secret revolutionary activities.
