Cloud Painting Tower and clear sound Two-storied Pavilion were originally imperial buildings in zhongnanhai, built during the 18th century Qianlong reign as waterside buildings for entertainment. The Qianlong Emperor often visited the buildings to enjoy the moon above Taiye Pond as well as to play musical instruments and paint . The buildings are elegant architectural treasures of impressive bearing. In 1954,Premier Zhou Enlai selected this location and had the buildings moved here.
